How do people manage to do so much in a mere 24 hours? We commute back and forth, every single day from work, our kid’s school and even stinky, sweaty sports games. Then we come home to a (not so neat) house with dishes towering at the sink, laundry tripling before our eyes, and yet dinner still needs to be cooked.
Or you’re a stay-at-home mom like I am – with one child or three, rambunctious little boys, we all have a million things to do each and every single day. As you can guess, I’m the mom with the three rambunctious little boys (all under the age of SIX!). I am constantly moping (curse you juice boxes!), dishes are done two or three times a day, doctor appointments, school and I LOVE it, but how do I manage to get it all done AND write this blog for my website? For myself, I need organization, a positive mindset, and most importantly – GOALS. I need achievable goals that are so close in reach and reality that I can actually achieve them!! Then put a giant check mark next to it when I’m done (maybe reward myself with a cookie I took from the kids, who knows.)
All of the tools I use for my own personal life can easily be implemented into your own life. I have three kids and I’m working every day to build my blog – It’s not too late for you to start wiping out those 2019 goals and grabbing at your dreams. Your dream could be starting your own business or simply getting a concrete solid routine down for your day – no matter what, IT CAN BE DONE.
There is a system to my madness – I use The Ultimate Productivity Bundle!
First Productivity Tool For Organization – A PLANNER! If you don’t have a planner, I just don’t know how you can get through the week, seriously. Sure you can put a doctor’s appointment in your phone but there are numerous distractions, I doubt checking the calendar is a priority over Facebook. There are a plethora of different types of planners but my personal favorite is a Home Management Planner. There is a really unique one by Mandi Ehman called Family Chore System & Planner. It has a clever system that is designed to help families actually work together to stay on top of daily, weekly, and monthly chores. This is a fantastic way to help you and your family work as a team and create family time too.
Another great option is using a printable – we all love those! A fantastic option is the Housekeeping Chore Box for Kids and Families by Kemi Quinn.
The Best Tools for a Positive Mindset
A positive mindset can change your life. If I wake up in the morning with cranky kids, chances are the day is going to be rough. I need to reset my mind back to a calm and nurturing state so I can be the best mother possible (and not go insane). Added bonus – I can also stay on track with daily goals when my brain isn’t scrambled eggs. There is a truly beautiful eBook by Lisa Grace Byrne called Replenish: Experience Radiant Calm and True Vitality in Your Everyday Life.
If you’re not much of a reader then an eCourse might be perfect for you. The Breaking Barriers Challenge by Lindsay Preston is a super fun 5-day program designed to help you break through the barriers that are stopping you from stepping into your best life!
My favorite part – SETTING GOALS!
If we don’t set goals for ourselves in our work place or personal life, how will we ever know what we have accomplished? Personally, my number one goal this year is to contribute $1,000 a month to my family’s income all while being a stay-at-home mommy. I set weekly goals that are in line with my main goal so I never lose sight of the grand slam.
Now, think back really hard, when is the last time you had the satisfaction of crossing off something in your goal’s list? ( I hope you have one!) If you want to start setting goals but aren’t sure where or how to start, I have some super resources for you.
The first being a beginner’s guide eCourse called Goal Setting 101: How to Set Goals as an Absolute Beginner by Nadalie Bardo. It’s an 8-lesson course that teaches you exactly how to set achievable goals. The next great tool for a busy mom or anyone in general is an actual goal planner. How cool to have a planner solely dedicated to goals?! Some options are Goal Setting Life Planner by Sareeta Lopez (she even includes a video on exactly how to use the planner). Another perfect option is Goals and Planning Bundle by Abby Lawson. This planner pays extra attention to actionable goals.
